ANGELA (weakly): Alex...you're here to save me.
ALEX (kissing & cradling her): Shh, shh...be silent, my love. You're going to be all right.
ANGELA: Don't worry about me, mon cher. Please, go home before anything else happens...
ALEX: NO! I can't leave...not without you. (begins to sob) Oh, Angela, Angela...please, my love, stay with me...
ANGELA: (pets him gently) It's OK, Alex. Ça bien.

(Music begins)

ANGELA:

(Music begins again.)

ALEX (crying as he sings):

(Spoken)
ALEX (sobbing): Oh, God, this can't be happening! We were supposed to have a wonderful future together!
ANGELA: And we still will, mon cher. You'll share your life with me in your heart.

ANGELA (her voice softens):

And the love we have is sure to never die

(Spoken)
ANGELA: Kiss me.
(Alex gives her a long, passionate kiss.)
ALEX: Angela...don't go!
(Angela lays in Alex's arms, & her eyes flutter closed.)
ANGELA (in a barely audible whisper): Goodbye. (she dies)

ALEX:
My darling Angela, how could you
Leave everyone you loved alone?
My aching soul
Has this great hole,
And it only makes it harder to say..."goodbye"
